In April 2014 HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt (International) S.A. and HSBC Trinkaus Investment Managers S.A. (“HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt Luxembourg”), the wholly owned subsidiaries of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG, have closed the sale of certain private banking assets in Luxembourg and related funds to VP Bank (Luxembourg) S.A. and VPB Finance SA, members of VP Bank Group (“VP Bank”).
An international PwC M&A team from Germany, Luxembourg and United Kingdom acted as M&A-adviser to HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG. We managed a competitive sales process with international strategic investors.
As at 30 June 2013 the private banking activities of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt in Luxembourg had assets under management of approximately EUR 1.5bn and the related fund business had assets under administration of approximately EUR 0.7bn. With the transaction approximately 20 employees have transferred to VP Bank.

As of 30 June 2013, VP Bank had Total Clients Assets of CHF 37.2bn. VP Bank operates in Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, British Virgin Islands, Singapore, Hong Kong and Russia.
