Protect your company with advanced data analytics

Fraud and compliance violations are major threats. In addition to direct financial consequences, they can also lead to long-term loss of trust among your organization’s clients and investors. The pressure on companies to effectively identify and avoid such cases is constantly rising, at a time when digital technology is playing an ever-bigger role in many areas – and fraud is no exception. That is why we provide a specialised team to take preventive action at an early stage and to investigate potential cases of fraud thoroughly.

Our Forensic Services Data Analytics team can uncover fraud and compliance violations in large datasets, combining the latest data science techniques with in-depth expertise in corporate processes and accounting. We can also draw on the combined expertise and experience of PwC Germany and the global PwC network for projects large and small to provide you with swift, reliable, and insightful results of the highest quality.

Data analytics for preventing, uncovering, and investigating fraud and non-compliance

Our services include both proactive measures, such as data-driven risk analyses, and reactive ones, such as forensic investigations of alleged fraud. We also offer continuous monitoring solutions, giving you oversight in real time.

Risk assessment and investigations

When we conduct forensic investigations into suspected cases of fraud or non-compliance, we analyse structured data such as accounting data from ERP systems, providing evidence and quantifying damages that have occurred. We also offer similar services outside of investigations to assess fraud risks. We apply indicators of potential fraud, misconduct, or irregularities in your data or processes. The results can be used proactively to address risks in certain areas or to direct further investigations towards specific events and transactions that were identified as suspicious.

Besides analysing data from ERP systems and similar sources, we also support clients with analysing large amounts of contractual documents, e.g., as part of investigations and dispute resolutions. Using AI-based analysis tools specially designed for contracts, agreements, and other similar documents, we extract relevant information, identify (compliance) risks, and identify potential contract breaches. The results can be overviews of contractual conditions, lists of anomalies and deviations from standard practices, or potential cases of contract breaches, compliance violations and fraud.

Monitoring

We can also help implement continuous monitoring solutions to meet your needs. Transaction monitoring models can cover areas such as Sanctions and Embargoes (SAN), Anti-money laundering (AML), Counter-terrorist financing (CTF), Anti bribery and corruption and fraud. We help you choose solution providers, support you in the design of your solutions and help implement and configure them. We can tailor the analysis models to your needs by developing custom solutions as well as through validation, tests, tuning, and optimisation.
